Your comments are most appreciated. Perhaps we need a FAQ or step-by-step
"newbie" article for the LWCA web site. I'd be happy to volunteer, but don't
expect anything in the next two weeks!

I have helped a couple of guys get started this fall, one of whom has become
active on this list. In both cases, they sent me a message directly, and we
communicated off-list. Most of the regulars would be happy to do that, I'd
bet. This approach is probably less intimidating than broadcasting your
temporary "ignorance" to the world.

There are very few "flames" contained in messages on this list. Virtually
all hostile comments are made with tongue firmly in cheek, and received in
that fashion. As you point out, that is a product of friendship among the
regulars (to which ranks, anyone is invited, by the way).
