Hello Jay:
Nice copy of you, LEK and Bill this morning on 185.3. Looks like conditions
are improving slowly. I installed a 100 ft triangular series tuned loop,
with
toroid coupling - yesterday afternoon.
The loop is toroid (FT50-75) coupled to a 50 ohm coax into the house - then
using Lyle's "universal" preamp.
Switching between the 12 ft "octo-loop" and 100 ft triangle -
shows less than 3dB difference. The signal level is identical -
and the SNR is identical. The bottom of the loop is 8 ft above ground.
Obviously very similar to the one you describe.
Signals were good overnight.

I would like to try an amplifier right at the loop - voltage feeding through
the coax - as you describe. Your amplifier sounds very interesting -
do you have a sketch ? I have a box of 2N3866s and 5109s, and
a few CP666s. I could make a PCB pretty quickly ! !

Thanks
