I will ask again before deciding all by myself, what is a good
frequency for
a new beacon based out of La Crosse Wisconsin???
Thanks es 73's,

Mike,
I don't understand. You're asking for an assigned LF beacon frequency,
why? This seems extraordinary, is there a special issue behind it? what
are we trying to do?
To be of assistance we listers should have some background.
First we should know will it be a loop or vertical beacon needing
assignment. If loop, will it be of the Litz or CU wire variety? How many
strands, what gauge? If a vertical, will it use a well pipe or chicken
wire for ground conductor? And how many/much of each?
Next, there might be numerology concerns. What is his sign? Although
those on the "other side" may gravitate toward 166.666, I'd do it
cautiously due to the proximity to Ralph's blow torch. <g> For if a NS
loop were also used, more RF would be pumped in than would be allowed to
escape, so who would likely listen? Ah, life's big problems. ...
Currently the 185.300 spot commands abundant attention so why not
around there. But I would think the freq.--for a new beacon--may depend
more on equipment, ie, an available crystal or synthesizer, if used.
