Good ideas! I was pondering about this yesterday when I was thinking about a
new site for the RX loop so I can transmit and receive at the same time. I'm
getting the bug to do more receiving now that the RX antenna situation has
greatly improved, but it's always a conflict with transmitting. I'll
determine how far away from 185.3, frequency-wise, along with the physical
separation of the antennas.
It's not that good of a deal to make this a regional grouping because we
tend to interfere with each others receiving ability. For example John A and
I mess up each others screens since we are 40mi and only 3Hz away from each
other. Jay at 115mi is strong but just low enough in strength that he
doesn't modulate my ARGO AGC to any great degree.
There's a lot of band width there and I suppose changing frequencies is not
that difficult for most of us. I'm interested in other's thoughts on this -
particularly from 'receivers' Mitch and Larry that feed us our
ego-satisfying daily signal reports. <G>
