[Lowfer] LEK weird mode...

LEK has been running for a couple of hours with approximately 30 second dots
and a total bandwidth of 0.34 Hz. It looks good on my screen with Argo set
for 60 second dots; slow speed. When I first fired up the exciter in this
mode, it garbled the first character, but I believe it settled down after
that. Sure gets tedious trying to find out if one of these super-slow modes
is really working!

I can understand John A's headaches when he tried to come up with his own
graphic characters for TAG. Fortunately, Murray has included a Hellschreiber
font table in his ZL1BPU exciter user's guide, so all I have to do is to key
in a bunch of hexadecimal characters from the table. As I get a better
understanding of the way the exciter interprets the characters, I may be
able to invent some weird modes of my own...

Yes, I'll be listening tonight on the 10-foot square loop. That is, if the
wind hasn't blown it down by then. It has been gusting to almost 50 mph
today. As for transmitting on that loop, I don't even have to calculate the
radiation resistance to predict how successful that would be. The radiation
resistance of a 15 meter loop is enough of a show-stopper for me :-)
