Bill B used 16 turns on the coax side with a #43 core (64 on the antenna
side for his 50ft antenna). I'm using a higher permeability #77 core with
only 4 turns (40 on the antenna side to achieve a 10 to 1 ratio). I could
have used a #43 core but 160 turns would have been required on the antenna
side - not a fun task.

Yes, the primary winding would be the antenna side so this would called a
step-down transformer, matching the high Z of the antenna to the low Z of
the line/receiver.
BTW, I use the ferrite core also as a ring to physically tie the upper
antenna wire, the ground wire, and the coax together. This junction is
hanging in space below the tree limb.
