Hi Lyle and all,
When last in Tokyo, I noticed that Akizukidenshi in Akihabara was
selling a 12.8 MHz TCXO for 200 yen (about $1.70) each.
A bought a couple but haven't tried them yet.
See http://akizukidenshi.com/catalog/parts.html#P-00227 and
scroll to the P-00227. In qty. 10 they are only 170 yen each.
See also http://www.sikasenbey.or.jp/~enaga/parts/KTXO_18S.html .
There is no FM input but there is a manual trimmer.
Output is only 1V p-p but it will drive TTL or CMOS if
you AC couple it. I believe the 3 ppm per degree C is
an error on their page; the sheet that was packed with
the part said 3 ppm over the entire temperature range.
Also, it wouldn't make sense for a unit rated 1 ppm
per year aging to have an awful tempco.
Was unable to find full data sheet on Kyocera (or AVX)
site, probably because it's an old part. Their present
KT series offers 2 to 5 ppm over the specified temperature
range.
I don't know if they will ship to the US; my minimal
knowledge of Japanese is inadequate to read that part of
the site. Perhaps one of you can help. Otherwise, I will
be back there in January and can pick up a few for any
lowfers that want them.
