[Lowfer] NC and IP

During the late afternoon and evening (Eastern) the earth entered a solar
wind stream coming from a coronal hole on the sun. This raised the NOAA POES
activity level (the level of charged particles hitting the earth) to a level
9 out of 9. The POES aurora prediction plots show moderate aurora can be
expected.

Interesting to see how this will effect Mitch's plots.

Unfortunately for me, the gods of Redmond have seen fit to cause my PI
computer to crash and refuse to boot. I think their database shows I have an
extra Windows 2000 license left and that I need to upgrade to it.
