Hi, Peter!
Thanks for the note. I had used an aeronautical lookup site
http://www.airnav.com/ and looked at a frequency list but didn't see RD...
but now I have bookmarked several more sites as a result of the helpful
notes coming over the list.
It turns out the beacon is probably within eyesight of where I sit...not
exactly DX, but a real signal nevertheless ;)
I did use the Far Circuit boards. Mine were gotten right as the article hit
the streets, and actually have a bit different circuit for the oscillator,
but it works fine. My notch filters resonate a bit too low, but that is not
really a problem here as there are no lowband BC stations near.
I am going to finish the active antenna this afternoon, also using the FAR
Circuit boards. Its the K0BRA unit that was in QST last year.
