Hi Roger,
FB on that converter. Did you use the boards from Far Circuits as
described in the QST article for that unit?
Well, on the RD sig at 355, are you familiar with several of the NDB
lists available for lookups? One is on the LWCA site:
http://www.lwca.org/
If you go there, click LF Utility Stations in the left-hand box, next
screen to Navigational Aids, next to Navaids. There one can enter some
info element, e.g., RD, or frequency, as 355, for lookup. I checked
your current interest and several refs. were found. Now it's up to you
to determine if what was received was that listed in Alaska! or the
local across town. ;-} The reason for the interpretation is that many
NDBs can have the same freq., though not close to each other to
interfere, usually.
Note, there are other Nav Lists. Possibly others will share their
favorites.

Hello, All!
This is I am sure a real 'newbie' question.
I have just built and am trying out the AMRAD upconverter from the
April
QST, which I am using with my FT1000 as IF from 4.0 to 4.5 MHz.
With a 50 foot indoor longwire I am hearing a CW (A2) station at 355
KHz,
that constantly ID's as 'RD'.
Does anyone have any details on power, location, etc for this station?
I haven't been able to find it via web searches.
I have a lot of noise here and am not hearing much else yet.
I am also building the active antenna from QST, but haven't done the
copper
metal working for that yet.
When I get that done I'll need to work on eliminating the noises, too.
Thanks in advance.
