Fellow Wire Jockeys,
It was not a good day in South Louisiana to work on antennas. It was 75
degrees, with gentle breezes, with a few puffy cumulus clouds in the
sky. Nevertheless, I persevered in spite of the miserable weather, and
managed to install most of my 166.5 antenna.
It is a single wire running up the side of my tower and spaced 2 meters
away from the tower. A top loading wire is strung between the tower and
the mast on my house roof. It's not the best, but I'll see how it
works. The next step is to check the tuning. I'll post some pix as
soon as I get the time to edit them. I could not get to the pix
tonight, since earlier this evening my daughter called, stranded, with
two blown out tires and it was Dad to the rescue time.
