People prosecuted for using radio waves for power?  As my father says:
"Name one..."

I did this experiment as a kid under the power lines (substation
transmission lines) by my house from an idea in Poptronics or EI.  Worked
like a charm - got lots of little sparks and could light a small 6v car
lamp.  The price?  Dragging around a big mess of wire!  But when you're 12,
who cares?
