I live in Brookmans Park, north of London, which is also the site of 4 MF 
broadcast stations, 2 x 50kW and 2 x 150kW. The nearest is about 500m away, 
the furthest about 1km. The field strength is about 10 - 20 V/m, and by 
resonating my LF ant on 909kHz, you can light a 60W bulb. But as a source 
of free light, the flickering due to the modulation would be a bit 
annoying. You can get mild RF burns from touching the antenna wire, and it 
is a good thing to think twice before connecting it to receivers and so on. 
Funnily enough, it does not seem to generate much QRM on LF, but 160m is 
awash with buzzing IM products re-radiated from mains wiring.
