Subject: [Lowfer] E-Mail Listings for Operators
I think that Jay's idea has merit but one potential drawback. Robots
are now used to search the web to obtain valid addresses to
send unwanted advertisements "Spam" to. These often include
pronographic messages and are a concern to most of us.
The only reliable work around is to change some key part of the address,
such as changing my e-mail address from:
[email protected]
to
[email protected]
Then you simply remove "nospam" to send me mail. It's not 100%
effective, but it sure helps. The other option is to place all the
e-mail lists in a password protected part of the site.
I'm open and will be happy to add the addresses.
Keep in mind that during the season, I try to do daily and even several
times daily updates on any beacon's status...so operators have the
option of keeping the info current.
