[Lowfer] Induction fields and loops

While Edison had wireless telegraph running from railroad trains on a =
commercial basis in 1891 and in advance of Marconi, the system was taken =
off the trains because of a lack of demand. It was later ruled that this =
method of wireless was by induction and not radiation. I cannot find the =
legal or technical reference to this trifling distinction. Was it a =
'court' decision?
Loops go back to the days of Fessenden's experiments here in town around =
1905 which was a RF version follow up of the aural airship detection =
system he developed before WW1.
