It's quite a bit more complicated, but the AMRAD LF Upconverter article in the
Apr. '02 issue of QST is interesting and boards are available at a reasonable
price. One potential "problem" with the article in the URL below below is the DIP
oscillator which may have a high phase noise level component. This could be
replaced by the simple oscillator shown in the article though I am not sure that
phase noise would be a limit for the NE602 circuit. It will be interesting to see
what takes place on this "sliver" band; much of the good work done in the present
LOWFER assignment should be applicable.
