[Lowfer] Two letter ID's and JDH

About a week ago, I had very marginal copy on the BRO beacon here
in Alabama...the capture files revealed a fairly solid "B and R" but
the "O" was lost halfway through the first dash. It reappeared an
hour or so later, but again a complete ID could not be copied.
This was a frequent complaint when I used to ID my beacon as
XMGR in QRSS modes, esp. at QRSS30 or longer.
I'd like to suggest that all beacon operators consider going to a
standard two character callsign. LEK could be shortened to
simply "LK", BRO could become "BR" etc. It would really improve
the chances of a successful transmission.
We could leave 3 letter or longer callsigns to those operating
in CW, WOLF, or other modes where callsign length was not
as much as a factor.
Also, I repeat, does anyone know why JDH is off the air? No copy on
his beacon here in almost a week.
