I find the same thing with sound. As a matter of fact, I first copied WA
because I was listening for someone else and as I walked around the shack I
had spots where I swore I heard CW at a very high pitch. When I sat at the
rig, near the speaker or wearing the 'phones, I heard nothing but if I
walked around the room I hit "sweet spots" where I *KNOW* I heard cw.

A Lot of listening and tweaking later and I pulled out WA's signal.

Of course, it wasn't signing WA then. Bill didn't know better so it was
IDing as:
"If you hear this signal please call 617 555 1234" which took FOREVER in
QRSS120.
