Hey Mike, Group,
With the last few days being spring-like I was able to raise a 3-wire
flattop that was stalled since November 'cause of the weather.
I used no. 18 covered cu wire and three 1-yard spacers. Two of the
spacers are in pvc, light weight and firm enough, w/ holes drilled
through. Biggest prob for me was soldering all terminal ends as I had to
move the completed tee near the garage to solder, then relocate another
piece of it. Tangles!
But I got it up about 30 feet avg. height. Looks fine hanging from poly
line tied in a Y-configuration at the ends. But I wonder what a good
March wind will do to it: easy to twist and flip? Yeeks, more planning.
Mike, if you use the galvo wire, consider that soldering will be more
challenging. Also, prior posts on this topic have stated that the T ends
should be joined, as is the center wire section.
Where is winter, my bathroom remodeling is hurting.

I have the spreaders cut and drilled. They are lightweight maple about

through them. The total span will be 80 feet. Now the question, should
I use
#22 Teflon insulated stranded silver plated wire of which I have
several
thousand feet of, or use #14 galvanized steel wire
