Not neckararilly so, John... :)

Very few make ANY mention of having tried it already
and that having failed. Most just post an "unsubscribe
me" message and that's IT, without reading the info they
received when they first joined the list. Most don't
even KEEP that message as directed, which IMHO simply
adds up to sheer stupidity and an inability or unwilling-
ness to follow directions/instructions, that's why many
of us that get to the breaking point about these kind of
posts reply with the "RTFM" or "RTFD" comments in an at-
tempt to keep our ire in check (flying monitors don't
work for very long). Perhaps if the person takes the
initiative and trys to find out with "RTFM" stands for
they might learn some other interesting and usable facts
that can serve them in good stead in the process
(one can dream).

Like adolescent children, so many new users (and some old)
to the internet and emailing/messaging think they know-it-
all, and don't need to read the instructions, listen to the
wisdom of others, or strive to increase their knowledge in
ANY way, so... they make bonehead mistakes over and over
and over again, and haven't cultivated the logical thought
processes that would otherwise enable them to figure out
the answers for themselves. I'm not saying that I know
EVERYTHING about it (because I don't), but I've spent
many uncountable hours reading reference materials and
even ran my own dialup BBS (Fidonet) for 5 or 6 years,
and while I didn't take an active part in it's creation
(like Bob Dole did) - I saw the internet (then called
arpa.net iirc, or something like that) become a public
access entity, and knew (due to being in Fidonet) one of
the primary authors of what we now know as a 'backbone'.
This is not to say I'm a OLDFART (46), but my first com-
puter was a Radio Shack Model II Level I, and to do any-
thing much with that one HAD to learn ASM (Assembly Lang-
uage Programming) which is STILL a lower level of all
computer programming and applications/operations.
So, I guess one might say, I've had it pretty good, but
just the opposite... When I was learning this kind of
stuff the only reference available was books or classes,
and the later were very limited and $$$. Users NowDays
have a MUCH broader information base with which to learn.
There is NO EXCUSE!!! For anyone that has a computer to
be IGNORANT of it's (the computer OR the internet) basic
operational characteristics. It's just PURE LAZINESS for
ANYone not to know the basics... (hint: search engines)

Your post is completely different, as you are actually
having failures occur and took the time to outline that.
Although I must say that perhaps it should have been
directed to the list-owner (which I believe has a special
email address JUST for that purpose), instead of to the
list. However in THIS case, I feel it has turned out to
the good as it MAY have breeched the thick skulls of some
of the mindless masses that have no clue what's happening.

Sorry to hear about your constipation problem :)
There have been several times when I've rcvd email from
a sender domain that continually failed to resolve, that
has clogged up the server in excess or 600-700 messages.
Like the monkey with the cork.. It's NOT a pretty sight
when the dam finally bursts!  :->}

Hope you're able to get in touch with the list-owner and
get things straightened out. And welcome back fm 'V'.

Please excuse any inadvertant :) spelling or grammatical
errors... I just got through cooking and I'm a bit wiped
out - and don't feel much like looking up words in dict.

73 4 now,
           Bruce

PS: Long posts are sometimes irritating too, aren't they :)
    Sorry...
