I also saw the odd signal last night. It started at
about .99 at about 6pm EST and continued until about
midnight when it was about 4 Hz higher. There were
several distinct breaks in the transmission which could
have been simply changes in conditions, but for the
most part the signal was quite robust.

I saw it rising, while others saw it falling. I
propose that this indicates some sort of unusual
variation in Doppler effect and that the signal was
moving between the stations that saw it going in
different directions. By combining the data perhaps we
could locate/track the signal..... :-) But then I
never was very good in physics class.

It was an interesting signal though. I saw Dex most
all night, but nothing of the others. From the looks
of the Lightning map, the lightning storm center
getting smaller is moving back to the southwest into
Texas and the Gulf. Maybe tonight will be better as
Dex has reappeared in my display at about 3pm est
today..

I think it's great fun to have several stations all
within one capture window (6Hz?) and wonder why the
frequency agile beacon guys don't all clump together if
we could find a mutually agreeable frequency window. I
think it would do great things for the hobby and result
in more data for the TX experimenters as well as a
place for the RX guys to play in.
