Subject: [Lowfer] NC in QRSS60
Last nights capture session revealed only one member of the Rat Pack =
Trio.=20
NC came
in with the strongest signal ever seen from his station here in =
Alabama. It=20
literally
looked like JDH at times.
Faint traces of WA's "buzz saw" were seen, but nothing I could hold up =
as a=20
verified
reception. Perhaps when the storm front passes on Friday night we can =
try=20
again.
Propagation (judged by my "hit list" of lower frequency NDB's) was not
great last evening and by 11PM static crashes were already peaking way
over S9 with the approach of the front. So I didn't expect to see =
anything=20
at all.
Distance from XM to NC is 391 Miles...but as Dex can attest the path =
between
us is a difficult one, with only spotty reception during most of the =
season.
I gotta get me one of those coils!
Congratulations to Dex, and I'm sorry to Bill and John. Maybe I can =
complete
my collection of Rat Pack recordings before the week ends!
