Mike,

Obviously four is better because there will be more capacity per foot. The
added weight makes it more of interesting question, and challenge, because
this is one of many tradeoffs we all have to face in any antenna design. The
number and length of ground radials is another good one.


Mike, have you run into some of the good articles on these variables? You
still have to be careful when reading these because they often pertain to
the author's home soil conditions, proximity of tree to the antenna, etc,
etc, and don't consider there are other locations with radically different
conditions. I think the incredible number of variables and different ways of
dealing with these variables make this a life-long quest for most.

What in your opinion is a better flattop; 4 wires spaced 10 inches apart for
a total of a 40-inch wide flattop, or 3 wires spaced on the 40-inch
spacer???
