[Lowfer] New Antenna

Hi All

just got the AMRAD E field probe up and am Very impressed
the antenna is NOT in an optimum spot. It is tied to the front porch
whit Duct Tape and is only at 15 Feet. And I am aware the problem
with comparing apples N oranges and I dont have my loop up this year
BUT

I am hearing things that I haven't heard this year and the first
impression
is that it works better than my loop from last year.

It is a lot quieter and the S/N ratio is lots better than the L I have
been using
and I am really satisfied.  It needed an earthing which is just a short
Pc. of copper pipe driven in the ground to about 1 foot with faucet
attached HAR
when this was hooked up to the antenna it quieted down 

looking to get it up to 60 Ft 

this is a real easy project to build. the PC boards are from FAR and
total price to me
came to 40 bux. Without a Junk Box probably could be done for 60 to 70
bux

works well on 160 and is showing much better SNR than the L antenna and
sounds good
up on 20 as well... no sign of cross mod etc etc

well worth it
