[Lowfer] Question about HP3586C SLV???

Mike, I pick up my 3586C tomorrow and am greatly anticipating this toy.
Does this thing have a "BFO" switch, or pitch control?  I hope so :)  What
do you hear at VLF?  Picking up sigs from things like NAA, NPM?  (I already
have receivers for those, but am always looking for a new way to receive!).
Let me know what you can hear of lowfers, if any ....

I'm also concerned about manuals and have discovered online that a set is
going for something like $175.00 !!  I did find a place that is willing to
rent an operation manual for $25 a week.  If I can't find a copy to look at
locally, I'll probably go for the rental.  I'd be glad to  pass on what I
learn from that, if I do end up doing that.
