Dexter & The Group,
I was not familiar with the GPS based frequency standard until
you pointed me towards this article. I am very interested in
pursuing this as a means towards providing a more stable
reference for our transmitters, which would allow us to
use even more exotic methods of recovering this signals
from beneath the noise.
At the moment, this is the "missing element" in many
ways towards further weak signal progress. To go
much deeper than is possible with WOLF and
QRSS, you simply must have very accurate
frequency standards, which currently equates with
expense and complexity. If we could indeed use
inexpensive GPS receivers to lock our transmitters
to, then we'd be ready to make those next steps.
Dex, keep us all informed of your progress!
