Subject: [Lowfer] Common Freq
Re: Common Coordinated Beacon Frequency System
CCBFS: UG! Don't like the looks of that but that's what it condenses
to. This is meant to elaborate on Rye's point of having a few deacons on
a near-common ferq for propagation monitoring. Yes, it goes on now in an
ad hoc fashion: Two lowfers thinking, "Wouldn't it be nice if ..." and
set up on a chosen freq, others monitor same and report capture results.
All interesting.
Rye's thought of a greater quantity of near-freq beacons prompted me to
reason, "And why not devise a division of regions that would be assigned
region local beacons to operate in?" So, say, there were the N-E-S-W
regions, someone, or more, could populate nearby freqs. Listeners then
could monitor that one activity channel. Convient and brings more
listening to one channel.
I'm not suggesting anything formal with rules [Oh heavens!], no, but
somewhat along the lines things are done now, via list groups. Has it
been tried?
