I ran lowfer beacon 1LF on solar panels for quite some time, and it worked
well...but I suspect that with a nearly 1 Amp current drain during
receive the Icom will run down a battery quickly unless I used
a massive solar array. For maximum frequency stability, I leave
the Icom on 24/7. I'd estimate that I transmit less than 5 minutes
per day on average and often miss several days without transmitting
at all.

Is there a way to filter the charger's input so that I don't pick up more
noise from it? Someone mentioned putting a choke on the charger but
no details.

Any and all help appreciated.
