Ended up spending a lot more time replacing the top wire with a #8 than 
anticipated. I broke off the old #12 trying to pull out a snag and had to 
start from scratch. Then the rains came! Anyhow, it's all tuned up and, 
hopefully, pounding out a hot signal. Have not yet checked the strength at a 
distance.
