Thanks Peter - I thought the comparison might help folks when they were
considering antenna types - advantages/disadvantages to each, as you
properly pointed out.
This past few evenings I have had to switch to the "modified K9AY" in order
to do overnight monitoring, as the electrical buzz has been very bad on the
octoloop. The much quieter KAZ helped on these occasions.
And - fortunately - it was pointed in the right direction, just by luck.
The K9AYs are much broader for directivity - compared to the loops - so the
general direction was adequate.
