John,

Good to see you are finally up to the competition, so to speak! Sorry I
didn't get a chance to check out your signal this afternoon on 185.8. I
picked up your phone message at halftime (in the process of trash-talking
the St. Louis relatives!) and was in no mood to do any receiving. Couldn't
scrape myself off the wall until afer 11:00 tonight. What a victory!

Plan to take the receiving gear to work tomorrow to check out my signal and
will also see if you are making a showing during the WA Off periods. Think
the RX loop, here, is still covered with ice.

You will be a nice reference signal for RX experiments. Look forward to our
first QSO (A slow one!).

I measured the dimensions of the new loop this afternoon and determined they
are the reason for the increased signal levels. The loop is almost twice as
wide as the legal 50ft. No problem at all adjusting the height (vertical
'length') to 50ft by raising the height of the lower leg, so it's desireable
to place the upper wire as high as your trees allow. Adjusting the width is
not that simple. Tied to reduce this, late today, but failed. I have a real
good placement of the upper wire and don't want to go for another bow shot.
In fact no support ropes are needed for the whole loop because it rests on a
bunch of limbs.

Bill

PS: Let me know if an appearance of Robin Hood might be in order.
