[Lowfer] WA down for the count

WA is back on the air for the moment. The input current is down about 2X,
after retuning, as the result of the higner Rac in the single #12 upper wire
compared to the pipe. Theres a 4x#12 run for the lower leg that was not
changed. No adjustment on the turns ratio of the impedence step-down
transformer has been made at this time.
What is very interesting is the measured signal strength, at my test
location 1.7mi to the west, is almost as strong as before!! When I change
the truns ratio in a few minutes to make the input power = 1w the signal
strength will be twice as strong as before. What is likely to be the reason
for this is the average height of the loop. Still 50ft at the top (FCC take
note) but the inverted 'v' shape of the pipe loop is now a straight line
with the #12 wire installation. The lower portion now has a 'V' shape and I
think this could be reducing the ground losses as well.
WA will be down for the next hour to allow the transformer change in the
comfort of the warm shop. Some retuning will be needed too. Get those
goggles ready!
