Bill,
I always call it a good day when I've been able to make someone laugh ; )
When you're done laughing take a look at this excerpt from John's column in
the Feb '95 LOWDOWN:
_________
"QSO Update. Not as many as were passed along last time, but still some...
      * BA reports numerous additional QSOs with XJ
      * LEK says his count for QSOs with XJ is now about 24...
      * XJ continues to be the most regularly reported station for QSOs,
having worked WI and YHO in addition to those mentioned above."
_________
From the replies so far it looks like the contact(s) between LEK and XJ at
732 miles would be the record. Have to contact Brice Anderson, too.
Of course all these contacts were in CW. And no, Bill, no one is going to
have a ragchew or a 75 meter-style roundtable using QRSS anytime soon. I
know some unfortunate comments were made by someone in another group
recently regarding beacon operation; but as I indicated before, I don't
share their view. My reason for asking the question had nothing to do with
this.
Its amazing what we've all seen LowFER beacons do over the last few years.
But now that more operators have seen what their stations can do, more QSOs
ought to be possible. I am *not* trying to demean the efforts of anyone who
doesn't want to make 2 way contacts. I simply want to issue a friendly
challenge!
And why do I think DX QSOs are important, Bill? Well, Hugh Cassidy said it
best, "DX Is !!!"
