With apologies to Wild Bill, I've got a commitment to Steve McDonald
for the rest of the season. He's attempting to put XM into the log book,
which would add another 2,000 plus mile reception for Steve. It would
also beat my "personal best" of 1,874 miles.

This is hard for me though, as I really want to be doing some listening of
my own. However, come Monday, I'll shut her down again and go
back into full time listening mode. My "hit list" is
as follows:

a. WA
b. LIP
c. BZS
d. BRO
e. RLD (?)

I would like to point out to folks that in our recent flurry of activity,=20
we seem
to have lost some familiar voices on LF this season. No reports from Florida
beacons, Texas is off, OK is gone, VA (who had a great rookie year last
year) hasn't been seen.

Please take time out to reach out to those who operate beacons, near
or far, and encourage them to get them on the air. It can be very a
very frustrating hobby, putting a lot of work into a beacon that
does not pay off with immediate reception reports. I'm
afraid that we've made it look too easy, and some are
getting discouraged.

XM is on the air, and will stay there until Monday AM. Reception reports
are very welcome!
