Nice gear! I have my eye out for something along that line, but
pickings are rather slim in these parts. I moved from 166.5 to 185.3,
and see the nicest power line harmonic there. It's about 15 dB over the
noise floor. Well, at least I can check my RX stability overnight! I
did determine that it's being picked up via a ground loop at the base of
the antenna tower in the tuning box. I'll probably be able to eliminate
it if I switch from direct coupling to link coupling between the coax
feedline and the loading coil. I'll play with that tomorrow night after
work. It appears to be the 5th harmonic of 60 Hz getting into the AF
stages of the RX, as it is steady as a rock and does not vary in
strength when I change the RF or AF gain.
