Well, I wish I could do so well. My TS-530S drifts about +/- 40 cycles
around the set frequency. It tracks the room temperature quite as well
as a thermometer. What do you guys do for accurate and stable RX
equipment? So far, about the best I can do is by using my Heath HD-1420
VLF converter followed by my Radio Shack DX-392 receiver. That combo
seems to hold at about 4 cycles drift over the course of the day.

The antenna is a 30 minute special - 85 feet of hookup wire between my
antenna masts. It's about 30 feet up and the flat top is about 55 feet
long. Tuning is by a base loading using a loading coil on a ceramic
form about 4" dia by 6" long with a 1/2 " x 6" ferrite rod down the
center. I simply move the rod in or out of the coil for tuning. Not
the best, but works. WWVB booms in at 60 KC even when the antenna is
set to 166.5 KC. I'm surprised that it works as well as it does since
the weather was way too nice here when I put it up, it was 70 degrees
and no rain. Nevertheless, I did what I could to ensure the proper
operation of the antenna - I waited until after dark to put it up. <G>
