It's so bad here that I have to run the manual attenuator. I am going to
give it up for the night also. No way could any signal other than a local
get through this crap.

You think YOU hear lightning?  You should be where I am!  A Tornado
watch; severe thunderstorms about; 50 MPH winds; flying branches, and
that stuff isn't even here yet!

I've been in RX mode for a week, but band conditions have been poor
lately (natch!) and not the weather conspires to really mess things up.
Tonight the lightning crashes are showing peaks running 50 dB above the
normal background noise level.  I think I'll disconnect the antenna and
go to bed...
