Hi Paul,

>Here is the scoop: 8 100' strands of RG-59 coax; strands are spaced >3"
>apart Strands are soldered to a 1/2" copper pipe at the ends.
>Copper is fed with a 2-1/2" #43 Core. Pipe passes through the core >for 1
>turn loop.

Excellent so far, but where's the series resonant capacitor bank located?

>loop primary is 5 turns... Turns ratio still seems too low.

This is way to low. What are you using for a capacitor bank? Must be either
mica or polystyrene. Also, what is value of your Vcc on the final so I can
determine what the ratio should be. Also, I keep asking, but no mention of
the most important parameter once the area is chosen (worth 100 signal
reports) - the loop current.

Could be the saturated ground. Partially, but not this much AC resistance.
You have a system resistance running in the neighborhood of 1 ohm. Should be
less than 0.1 ohm with all that paralleled RG59 coax.

>Bottom of diamond is 2' off the ground.

Close to becoming a problem.

>Resonating capacitance = 29000 PF

Reasonable value.

>I need to get up the tower and attached the rope to the 125' point. >Not
>as easy to do as it once was sigh.......

Be careful!!

>Once this is done it should allow me to get the bottom of the antenna >10
>or so feet off the ground.

Good.

Bill
