Hi Paul,
>USA is now on the air and for a while I hope.
This is good news!
>Sending QRSS 30 on a 100' perimeter loop. Loop orientated NW/SE right now
>trying to see if it makes it to Mitch.
I think Mitch may be on the road at the moment so don't hold your breath!

What kind of loop current are you running?
>That will probably have to wait for tomorrow. Loop is 8 parallel strands
>of RG-59 coax cable. Should have an effective surface area of about 5".
That should work pretty well (You mean 5" of effective perimeter). How much
loop current are you running? I'm about to go on the air with 4A on a 80'
perimeter so it should be interesting to see how they compare. You should
see approx 4A unless the spacing between wires is too close or your stepdown
transformer is not set up correctly. I found that #43 or #77 cores have
about the same efficiency with 30 turns on the primary (22vdc on the final).
Of course only a single pass-though on the secondary - and use the largest
practical wire diam, here.
>Looking for all reports please.
I'm at work at the moment but will get back to you on the strength later
tonight. With a loop this small in diameter, and the resulting high Q from
the paralleled wires, the tuning and matching will have to be on the money
to get out of your back yard. .......well, maybe to get beyond Jay's house.

Good luck on this!
Bill
PS: Come-on, the rest of you loop promisers. Let's get moving!
