[Lowfer] More good loop news

Mike R, Paul C and all:

I just re-tested the 3/4" x 26' diam pipe loop and the Rac read 0.077 ohm=
s at 185k! Better yet, this could be more like .06 ohms because of Q limi=
tations in the resonating capacitors in the Rac meter. =20

By virtue of this low value this loop should radiate a signal comparable =
to the 50'/50' loop with #12 AWG! The #12 loop has an area-current produ=
ct of .83A x 2500sq ft =3D 2075. The test loop has an area of about 520 s=
q ft x 4A =3D 2080, if the Rac is actually .0625A.

I'm not sure why the Rac is now close to the skin effect value. The surfa=
ce of the ground is frozen and covered with about 3" of snow, so that mus=
t be the difference that caused the reading to drop from 1.2 ohms a coupl=
e of weeks ago. I have no idea why elevating the loop from 3 to 10ft made=
no difference when I ran the earlier tests. This certainly requires more=
study including field strength readings at my far-field test locations.

Thanks go to Mike R and Paul C for asking questions today about this loop=
!
