John A,
I've spent some time on the 73k reception problem over the last two days =
and here's what I've found:
The IM (chicken plucking sound) doesn't seem to be an antenna problem. I =
connected my SVM to a converter, allowing coverage of the 73k region off =
the same antenna and there doesn't appear to be any IM problems. The regi=
on around 72.401 is nice and quiet and WWVB, 60k, has a descent S/N. Ther=
e's even IM on WWVB with the R75.
If I connect the R75 to the converter there is also no IM. This is a NE-6=
02 converter with a wide open front end. Wouldn't one figure better IMD r=
esponse for the R75? Any hints of a similar problem with your R75 - maybe=
with an untuned loop?
Thanks
