I have used several low wattage types at the house for more than a year and
notice no LF problems at my receiving locations, about 100-200 feet away,
served by underground cable.

However I recently started using "200 watt" lamps (actually equivalent to 150
W) and have had three out of five fail within 100 hours of use. A spectrum
analyzer shows primary energy in the 50 MHz region so LF interference may not
be a problem. These are located in another house served by different line
transformers so I haven't tested local interference problems.

To my surprize, my new Panasonic 24 inch flat screen TV produces overwelming
RF noise throughout the entire spectrum even when off. I have to unplug it
entirely for LW listening; the interference even makes it through the
underground cable.
