Thanks - I'm sure there will be other evenings in August that condx will be
fine. I believe there is someone on the reflector who is wholly solar
powered - W1VLF ? (could be ? ).
A friend of mine, who is a consultant on solar / wind systems has configured
a tentative system for me. He travels to Ecuador / Peru / Guyana, etc and
does this kind of work for telecomm outfits, and also small towns. I would
like to pursue the idea with him.. the technology is there nowadays - and
prices are certainly better than a few years ago. And he has a 100 acre farm
about 5 miles outside of town ( ha ! ).
Ah yes,  another project to add to the never-ending list !!!

I certainly have been keeping a regular eye on the "lightning" site, before
I do an overnight capture..... it has proven to be a very good indicator of
whether the receive session will be successful.
