[Lowfer] Great idea for experimenting...

I a currently in Idaho. Last year the State of Idaho was paying farmers to
destroy their stored potatoes so that the total available volume for the
marketplace would be reduced and the price of potatoes might increase above
the 1 cent per pound being offered. The State offered $0.02 per pound ($2.00
per cwt) for potatoes that were trucked to their designated 'potato
destruction' locations. Most farmers were not able to take advantage of this
price even though it was twice the price that they could get on the open
market. It seems that the cost of transporting the potatoes was greater than
the 2 cents a pound that the State offered. (check on the price of potatoes
in your locale -- Idaho potatoes are probably 59 cents a pound in your
supermarket. That transportation and 'middleman' processing and handling of
potatoes really adds up!

The reason for this discourse is that if anyone is really interested in a
supply of potatoes for running a 'potato cell', I will be happy to help them
get a supply at 2 cents a pound plus shipping! As usual, the cost of
generating the electricity is quite low, it is the distribution cost that
raises the price.

That's a pretty good idea for pushing experimentation a little further.
Just imagine someone hearing a signal 500 or 1000 miles away and being able
to say that it came from a vegetable, fruit or whatever. I wonder if lemons
would work better??
