Well, it picks up thunderstorm noise real good!  And last night and
today we have some interesting atmospheric noise makers in the area.

On the 150 KC band the new antenna gives me about 20 dB more signal than
my old hunka' wire did.  MF beacon stations come booming in now.  I have
a variable attenuator in line with the antenna, and I found that this
morning the thunderstorms had raised the noise level between 35 and 30
dB over what it was the day before.  Now I need to work on improving my
receiver system.
