Grant:

First, my thanks again for offering to help me get my LogPlus log
converted and turned in to LOTW. I have downloaded their software,
applied for and received my password via postcard. Before I attempt to
convert my ver 3.56 LogPlus log to the format required to send it in, I
have a few questions. I just ran a copy of logbook.dbf onto a floppy and
am ready to try and convert it. My log has a few entries from the early
60's, but then jumps ahead to 1992 and is pretty steady from there til
now. The entire file is just short of 800K. How have you dealt with the
need to establish cutoff points in your log for additional submittals
over time? Do you start a new log at each cutoff point? If I submit now,
and then decide to append to it in a couple of months with additional log
entries, how would I do that? One problem I see with starting a new log,
is how will LogPlus continue to do searches when DX spots come in in the
DX Packet area so that it knows whether to highlight it for me? Does it
look at all logs that have been established? Lots of questions, and
hopefully simple answers. I will go ahead and try the software you sent
to try the conversion with the current version of my log. Hope to hear
from you soon.
