Hi Ray:
I'm not sure what running ADIF.EXE has to do with importing files.
I import files from NA all the time like this:
>From the 'front page' - 
C> Program Utilities
   J> Contest Conversions
      H> NA by K8CC
         .ADF Location: (enter the directory that the NA files are in)
             LogPlus will show you all the *.ADF files.
             Highlight one and press <enter>.

Works with 'callsign.ADF' files, which are small enough to fit on a floppy.
I once imported a file with an '.ADI' extension by changing it to '.ADF'.
