Based on the info sent to me by Glenn (VA3DX) which gave me a starting point
(thanks Glenn!), I did some testing with my new Mark V Field. This
information may or may not work for you.

I am using LOGPlus! Ver 4.7

In DUMB TERMINAL Mode

Started out with timing loop setting of 10000 and it worked but the frequency
updated slowly.

Tried 11000, 12000 but still a slow update

Tried 9000, 8000 and update seemed faster also the CAT LED blinked faster.

Finally got down to 3100 with fast frequency update and CAT LED stays lighted
all the time (no blinking)

In LOGGING WITH PACKET Mode

Frequency would not update and CAT LED would not light.

After some checking I found the lowest number to use was 4700. Frequency
would update quickly and CAT LED stayed lighted all the time.

Going back to DUMB TERMINAL Mode the frequency would update fairly quickly and
you can see the CAT LED blinking as the radio polling is taking place.

In LOGGING WITHOUT PACKET the lowest setting is 3600

Don't know why I need three different numbers however the 4700 seems to work
in all cases, and a good compromise, so I will use that unless someone has a
reason for using a higher number with slower response.

These are the settings I have for RADIO SETUP in LOGPlus!

Radio Model: FT-1000MP
YAESU Timing Loop: 4700
COM Port: 1
IRQ: 4
Address: 3F8
Baud Rate: 4800
Data Bits: 8
Parity: N
Stop Bits: 2

I hope this information is helpful to anyone with a new Mark V Field radio.
