Hi Bob,
The Packet info provides a running list of call signs available to work. For not only the regular DXer but for prefix chasers and IOTA chasers, ect. Some calls are more important to work before others. The packet window lets u see who else is available to work, not necessarily in the order they appear on packet.
Being able to scrole back or recall on a particular band or a particular set of frequencies depending on the capabilities of each individual packet system allows the user to use the packet system as an important tool to work DX.
Personally I dont run packet on my LOGPLUS becauseI use it as a stand alone system. On my console I have 3 computers running 3 seperate keyboards and monitors. The main computer runs LOGPLUS and all other standard computer programs. A seperate computer with monitor to the left of the main momiuter with a mini 9 inch keyboard runs my packet system. A third computer with a keboard behind the main keyboard and the monitor to the right of the main monitor runs my RTTY and CW system. This allows me to be doing standard computer things such as word processing while operating CW and searching packet for more DX. Just my way of doing things.
But the packet system is a vital tool for any DXer and his window for activity on all the bands and all the modes.
