Just wanted to let everyone know how things are going. So far - great.
Since I "wasn't" a Windows programmer (still learning), I think things
are Looking pretty good. I've placed a .jpg on my home page if anyone
would Like to see how things are going. I'll give you a run down here -
ftp://ftp://logplus.org/english/lp4wbeta.jpg you can also go to the
home Page and follow the link.
When you bring up the picture note the differences between the top and
Bottom sections. The top is displayed in 16bit and the bottom is 32bit.
Once The program is completed, everything will be in 32bit.
Top Screen -
"The FOLDER names are only place holders so disregard them at this
point". The screen you see is the logbook browser. The mouse becomes a
very Powerful utility so I'll explain a bit of how things work/will
work.
If you double-click on any of the header names (QSL, CALL etc..), the
program Will automatically switch index orders and display the field you
pressed in Alphanumeric order. For example, if you double-click the
header field for Call, The first call will be 1A0AA (if its in your
log!). If you look below the browser, You'll notice a button called
Reverse...This is a toggle switch which will changed The display from
Ascending (normal) to Descending order instantly.
Also, if you don't like where I've placed the QSL field, you can move it
by Dragging it. HOWEVER, it only stays that way while the program
remains open. Once you close out the program completely, the order
reverts back to the Way I like it! Changing folders does not change the
positioning you set.
If you right-click on any line of the browser (lets say 3D2AA), the
program will Automatically display a pop up window that will display the
countries FLAG, NAME, effected/deleted dates, Continent, CQ, ITU
information. I plan on
Expanding this a bit..but not totally sure what other information will
go here.
The "GREEN" keys at the left are SEARCH keys. The Partial button has
been "SERIOUSLY" improved over DOS. Yes, I will be changed the DOS
program to Reflect this change as well. If you enter "CF" in the search
field, instantly And I mean instantly, all the callsigns with "CF" in
them will be displayed.
The Multi search will allow you to search by various fields. Its not
completed Yet, but it will allow you to pretty much search for any
combination. At least That is my hope!
All the other buttons are pretty much self explanitory.
Also note that when the other folders are totally completed, you can
swiftly Move between different awards without ever closing the previous.
The Bottom screen -
This is the logging module. Typically it contains all the information
the DOS Program does with a few expection. The Comment field will allow
you to write A book. A new field - County has been added. This field
is automatically Updated from the CALLBOOK CDROM as is many of the other
fields.
The bottoms at the bottom called Rotor are pretty easy to understand! If
you have a rotor attached, just press either SP or LP and the rotor will
Go automatically. Note, that I will be adding 2 rotor controls to the
program. The second will be selectable via a Utility folder which will
go next to the QSLMgr folder tab.
Stats - Pretty much self explanitory.
DX Info - Displays the same information as I mentioned above when you
Right-click the browser field. Prev. QSOs - Any QSO you've ever made
will be automatically updated here.
Prev. QSOs - Self explanitory.
That's it for now.
